The mise en scene changes a lot in this trailer depending on the mood of it. At the beginning of the trailer we see an establishing shot showing the council estate where the protagonist lives. The estate has a lot of greenery and open space around it maybe connoting that one day our protagonist may be able to leave the estate and become happy.
Towards the beginning we see quick shots of the life of our protagonists. fade in's are also used to show information about the film such as 'Jury Prize Nominee'. This is to intrigue the audience and prove it is a film worth watching.
When we are introduced to the character we are shown many shots through her point of view identifying immediately to the audience that the story will be based around her life.
There is a lot of shots at the start that have dark lighting in them this is to portray to the audience that the protagonist is unhappy with her life.
At the end it is clear that the mood is escalating and tension in the film is building as the camera angle become a lot more random and less specific and information is sometimes cut short from the scene to make room for another bit. This adds to the mysterious aspect of the film and keeps the audience gripped.
The shots then turn dramatically darker at the end and characters we have not seen before become involved in her life this leave the audience wondering what impact they have and why the shot become so dramatically darkened.

The costume is in the trailer is a big part of showing the audience its genre. when shown a shot of the dancing girls we see that they are all wearing similar clothing (strappy, revealing tops) whereas our protagonist is wearing a hoodie over her vest top showing that she is different and does not fit in.
Sound
When we are introduced to the protagonist there is a non digetic track playing in the background. It is of urban genre depicting the character as feisty. Sound effects also add to the trailer. For example when she is slapped by her mother the sound effect is used to accentuate the slap and provides the audience with the clear message of trouble. The is also an clear accent throughout the trailer which adds to the place she lives. There is two track changes in this piece which are placed when the protagonist meets the male character. Towards the end of the trailer the pace of the music get quicker to match the heaving breathing this adds an atmospheric sense to the end and builds the tension.
