- The punch shot
- The stamp shot
The punch shot
The first shot we filmed was our protagonist (played by Seyi) punching towards the camera. Initially as a group we thought this would be the easiest shot of the two but as we began to film it became clear to pull off this shot effectively we are going to change some of angles of the character and the camera.
At first we had seyi facing the camera and punching straight in to the lense. When looking back at the footage we decided that this looked too staged and set up. To make it believable we turned the camera to right and kept shay where he was. By doing this it meant seyi was punching across the lens instead of straight at it meaning we can edit it aswell as it being believable.
The stamp shot
For us this was a lot easier to film as all we had to do was place the camera on the floor and get seyi to pretend to stamp on it. We were quite lucky when it came to weather as the sky was blue and cloudy giving a really good effect on the shot. We got seyi to do this shot several times. Some walking up to the camera and stamping on it, some with his foot horizontal and some with his foot vertical. We also did it at different speeds so we could speed or slow then down if needed. We now had enough varieties of shots to choose the best and be able to manipulate when necessary.
Overall the filming we did went really well and we got everything we want to film done. We had lots of different takes of the shots meaning when we come to edit it will have enough choice for the perfect effective montage clip.
