music for the start
Music for the start of our Trailer
This instrumental could be effective as it uses a soft piano sound to begin with, however the piano's music is used in a minor key to give of a sinister or sad effect within it.
The pace of the music is also rather slow, due to the shots that we are using at the beginning of the trailer this slow pace would compliment the trailer very nicely as in order for the soundtrack of the trailer to appear affective it needs to have the correct paced track at the start
As we are only using roughly ten seconds of this, the chosen ten seconds would be at the start before any aiding sounds are used e.g. the drums.
This instrumental uses a different instrument which is stereotypically associated with sadness, the violin, however the pitch of the violin is very high and this makes it less suitable for our trailer as even though it is in a minor key, the pitch makes it sound rather childish.
The pace of the selected part of the is slow enough to make it suitable for the beginning of our trailer
The ten seconds that we wish to use will also be the first ten seconds of this, as after a certain time all the accompanying sounds take place which would ruin the sad effect we are trying to display at the start.
This instrumental combines both piano and violin together to create a sad and melancholic effect with it, all instruments used are in a minor key which therefore makes it appropriate for the sad nature that we are trying to achieve in the beginning of our trailer.
The pace is much more suited to our trailer than the other selected songs that could possibly be used, it is much slower which can allow the viewers to take in more of the shots on screen than the accompanying music
The ten seconds that would be appropriate would also be the first ten seconds as the music gets better once the backing violin kicks in, which can give the starting song some variation.
I believe that the 3rd option will be best suited for our teaser trailer as when actually put within the trailer I believe that it would accompany the first shots which include the shot of the protagonist on the floor and the shot of the protagonists mother holding the baby, as there is little action in this, only disequilibrium.
