We were struggling to create a tag line for our film so i did some research and looked at the tag lines from other popular urban drama films. Here are five examples of urban drama tag lines.
Shank - the gangs are taking over
Bullet boy - you only get one shot at life
Adulthood - after kidulthood comes adulthood
Fish tank - live, love, and give as good as you get
Sket - welcome to the sisterhood
All of these tag lines let the audience in on what the film may be about. For example - Shank is obviously about gangs and Bullet Boy is about a gun shot. Due to our storyline being solely about a good boy turning to gangs and drugs to protect his family our film has three themes in it, one is gangs, one is family and the last is drugs. as a group we didn't know what route to go down for our tagline although we did decide we wanted out tagline to be an everyday cliche or saying that people would recognise and relate to. With this in mind we started thinking about sayings we've heard or used. after looking at some we decided on -
This is good for our film as is hints at drugs and the consequences of your actions which is perfect for our film ad the idea that although our protagonist is doing bad things he's doing them for right reasons and that the consequences of these actions could cost him his life.
