Text Used During the Trailer
- The first text we were going to use was a text called Urban Jungle, at first we thought the text would be perfect due to the fact that we were shooting an urban drama the text seemed perfect due to the erosion effect within the text and the skyline effect at the bottom. The only problem with the skyline within the text is that it began to overpower the text and in some cases it made the text illegible, so it was extremely hard to read the text especially when our trailer was made up of fast paced montage clips, so this text had to be altered slightly.
- So we had to make sure that the new text was as effective, just without the skyline, so this new text had to have an eroded feel to it, to have the rough gritty feel that we are trying to have our typography have, so we had an idea of what typography we were trying to use.
- The typography we decided on using was a typography titled 'Plane Crash' due to the eroded nature of it. I believe that the erosion gives the text within our trailer the perfect gritty feel that we were trying to accomplish, as you can clearly see the faded patterns within the text as well as the fact that the text is still bold enough to make a large statement. Finally, as the font is big it can clearly be read in the fast paced trailer.
